Where has the year gone? Here we are in April and Spring is here! We have had almost 2 weeks oaf lovely sunny weather! The shorts have been out and the grass has been cut ! Yesterday was my first early start for a while. 0500 and headed to North Dorset for a bluebell recce with my good friend Bunker photography. We were met with stunning conditions! mist, frost and later sunbeams !
Despite the warm weather. It is still cold at night. We are still having the occasional frost. Which we did yesterday 14 April. It is alway touch and go with early starts! The hard part is getting up ! Once that coffee moves around the body and the second one kicks in ! You are raring to go !
I lost my passion a little due to needing a hip replacement. This has restricted me in getting out and about. I just needed the nudge! Also sunrise is getting early! The reward though is priceless! Keep taking the mediation Andy ! I can use my monopod as a walking stick !
I have been commissioned to take on a couple of large projects for different organisations! I have worked on these and currently awaiting the go ahead! Fingers crossed. Such a pleasure to be asked . I am so grateful to be considered!
I won a prize for one of my images and this always brings such satisfaction ! It make s you think that my work isn’t too bad ?! The M and S vouchers will come in very handy! I have also featured again on the BBC weather and Meridian News. Thanks to the Dorset Echo and the Bournemouth Daily Echo for featuring me also.
My website has been doing well and getting over 10,000 views! If you are one of those reading this blog then please let me know how i can promote you , myself, your business or family. I will attempt most things and i am not very expensive ! Thank you for looking at my website. I do post most of my images on my Facebook page. The link is from my website or Andy Pattenden Photography. Drop me a message and say Hi!
My last commission was for friend of mine. He and his wife wanted some images of a special location in the Purbecks. I was able to research this and take a number of images for them. One of those was chosen and now features pride of place in their home. They also liked another of my images from the New Forest. I produced a print for them and this also sits proudly on their wall in their home! It is a lovely thought to think someone likes your so much that not only do they want to pay for it. It features in their home! It was a trek and involved falling over in the mud and doing my Giraffe impression to try and get myself up ! Caked in mud! Luckily i was able to get changed in my van and had a dry robe to wear home! No extra charge for the cleaning !
Spring time i think features in most photographers favourite time for photography. New life ,fantastic colours, mist and clear skies.Hopefully ! It certainly has to be one of mine. The Autumn also. If you are walking stop and listened to the birds, rustling and silence. All mixed up ! Take a deep breath clear your mind and close your eyes!
In my quest to get better at outdoor portrait work. I have been taking along my camera to Grandchildren days out. Trying new techniques and different settings. The challenge is really good for my development and to try and reach as better standard. I have some new lenses to get used to and try. I am really pleased with how this has gone. I am always looking for new methods and locations. Also families who would like such a shoot !
I have chosen some of my recent images as my choice for April. It just has to be the Ancient woodland of Dorset. A very happy place. I hop you enjoy looking at these and please let me know you thoughts or requests !
