I cannot believe that Christmas is all but here. The year has gone so fast! Winter really arrived with a sudden vengeance! One day it was mild and i was in my shorts ! The next day the frost came and the shorts were put away! I was looking forward to sunny walks in the cold! What did we get mostly ? Rain and gloom ! Followed by more gloom! I am sure we had a week or more without seeing the sun or blue sky ?! It really does not help with my mood ! I need to be outdoors !
I ventured out this morning to the beach. Hoping for a sunrise! No sun ! a little colour but that was it ! It was cold ! There were still people swimming! But lovely to be out ! I have mostly been to the forest as Autumn is just wonderful in the forest. With recent strong winds the leaves have pretty much gone ! The beach it had to be!
I have had a good month in building may photography profile. I have had confirmation that my images i took for the Caravan and Motorhome Club in South Wales have now been completed and installed at Tredegar House in South Wales. The images are displayed in the public areas . They are wall sized images and look amazing ! If you are washing up or in the shower and toilet blocks you will be enjoying my images ! I am careful what i tell my friends about my images being displayed in the toilets! To see your images displayed on an entire wall is such a huge boost to your confidence in your art ! I now have a number of sites across the country using my images!
I now also have images on the website and site directory . Also today i have found out that another of my images will be used Nationally to contact customers! I have also won a photo competition!
We were lucky to have some snow as far south as Dorset. I had been following the forecast and it looked pretty certain we would get snow. I wanted to get somewhere high up. I headed to the New Forest. That is a location that will often have snow when we do get it . It is often a little heavier and not sleet! I was so lucky ! It snowed really hard. We had about 5/6 cm’s fro a couple of hours . It settled quickly. I had to be quick as the roads became quite bad quite quickly. I now have enough wintry shots for next years calendar and even some Christmas cards. This year i sold all my calendars! I am so pleased that for 12 months my images will bring warmth to peoples house. `
I shared a number of my snowy images on some new Facebook pages. One group in particular I received her 12,000 likes and loves! Also others into the 100’s. I was gobsmacked ! I couldn’t believe it ! The images were shared over 300 times ! At times like this you feel that actually i am doing ok as a photographer!
Looking back over the year. I feel that i have developed my skills. Tried knew things and gaining confidence in other genres of photography. Next year i am photographing a friends wedding. I hope to do a few more trips further afield and would like to get some more portrait sessions in ! My daughter is also getting married next year ! She tells me that i am not allowed to have my camera ! The lady photographing her wedding was at a wedding i went to in the year. I just fell in love with her style. I knew we had to have her at my daughters wedding . I would love to learn much more from Tegan!
