September 24

September is here and Autumn is slowly creeping in. Autumn is one of my favourite times of year. Especially as a photographer. The leaves are starting to change colour and the sunrise and sunset starting earlier and later ! A better time to venture out in the morning and getting back home earlier!

I had a good trip to Cornwall and Devon with some good photo opportunities and some nice walking. Of course it was not without heavy down pours! Not a bad thing as it brings out some beautiful colours especially the greens. I visited a couple places i had not been before. Charlestown and Looe in Cornwall. Charlestown being my favourite. We even got to watch a tv series being filmed ! I would like to return to Cornwall in the winter to get some stormy wild sea images! It is wonderful to see so many places at different times of the year and record these scenes to look at any time. The joy of photography!

It is always good to get back home and look at the images that you have taken.Editing my photos often includes deleting a lot of shots! I am not one to sit and line everything up for the one shot ! I tend to take a lot of images and walk around looking for the perfect shot or something unusual. A shot that you think looked good at the time , often doesn’t when you do your editing ! I often ask myself why i took that particular shot?! I do enjoy the editing. It does take a lot of time to do this. Especially as i take so many !

I was asked if i would be interested in taking some photos for a young lady in a prom dress with a horse ?! I like a challenge! The prom had already occurred. The young lady wanted some images of the prom dress with her horse. I did some research to get some ideas and off i went. The weather was kind. We had a lovely session and i managed to get some great images. I am hoping to get some more opportunities from this shoot. Fingers crossed!

The Motorhome and Caravan Club who i have carried out some shoots for. Notified me that one of my images has been chosen for their stall at the NEC Birmingham for the Caravan and Motorhome show. It was going to be a very large image ! I was so pleased that my image was chosen for this! The show is used to promote the club. It i s also a windows for manufactures to exhibit their products from small to large! A great place to display my work !

Also I was asked if i would take some images for a Gin manufacturer. Dorsetshine Craft Gin are a local distillery in Dorset. This was another new subject for me. I was given the Range of Gin and off i went and took a range of photos. From inside and outside. Not being a massively artistic person i took upon the challenge ! I really enjoyed it ! The local woods being my favourite play ground for this.

I sold a calendar to a family last year who live locally. They contacted me and asked if i would take some head and shoulder shots for a website! Of course i would ! We chose a location in the gardens where they live. I turned up again with some ideas and between us we did a good shoot and took some good images. It is hard being photographed and having to smile and pose in from t of someone that you don’t really know ! However we had a coffee and chatted through what was needed and this relaxed us both ! It was a great shoot. Again i really enjoyed it ! The feedback was lovely.

“You were quick (efficient),painless(fun)and you captured ‘me’ so i feel super happy”You’ve taken some great shots “

My calendar photos have been chosen and they have gone to the printers. I am really excited about this ! I look forward to publishing details on my Facebook page
