About

My name is Andy. I am mostly a self taught photographer having been involved in photography from a teenager. My step-dad was a keen photographer and he helped to inspire me as I grew up.

In the early 1980’s I joined the police service in Surrey and later transferred to Hampshire Constabulary, always maintaining photography as an interest but also as part of my job. Sadly not always a relaxing walk around the woods or along the beach!

After 30 years service in the police I retired and found that having more time my interest really grew. Policing is a vocation rather than a job and filling time in retirement can be difficult so finding more time to get out and about and take photos has helped my mental health and brings a sense of peace, tranquillity and normality to my life. Through my photography I aim to bring some peace and beauty of Hampshire and Dorset into both your home and mine.

I love getting out and about taking photos of almost anything. In particular woodland, landscape and seascape scenes. I have also had some success at wildlife photography. Seeing things and being able to record the beauty and share in people homes is very satisfying. I also enjoy windsurfing as a sport and have taken many photos of extreme windsurfers locally at Avon Beach and  Southbourne Beach in Dorset.

My photography isn’t all about me though! I have featured in a couple of local magazines, on TV weather forecasts and won a few competitions. I have been commissioned by a well known caravan and motorhome club to take photographs for their sites across the country. These now feature as large murals at those sites.
