January 2023 – Update

January has been a very cold and wet time. Despite the cold I have really enjoyed some early morning sunrises and some frozen landscapes. The sunrise after 0800 has been much better than the early summer sunrises. I had hoped for some snow to prepare for Christmas cards for 2023 but it did not materialise where I live. I am learning that as the seasons come and go you need to plan for the next one to prepare your libraries with images to add to cards, prints or calendars.

I have found some fulfilment  helping a fellow photographer to develop their skills as they progress with new ideas and getting out of Auto mode. Looking at the histogram, learning the exposure triangle and some long exposure work along the coast of Dorset. They have produced some stunning images. I have another friend who is also looking for some “ride along sessions ‘ with me. A massive compliment to be considered as someone who can help and develop someone else skills and make a difference to someone’s life.

It helps me when researching the best way to teach and explain techniques in my own development . Also a good refresher. I had some success also with creating cards . Selling to some work colleagues  and friends. Please ask for details if you would be interested in buying any ?

Trips this month have included Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and the New Forest. On my regular dog walk (I always have my camera ) I took some lovely images of other dog walkers pets. One of these has just been printed and one waiting to be printed. I am really pleased with the results as are the dogs and owners.
